"Apple’s Dilemma: Balancing Privacy and Safety Responsibilities" By Cold Call Podcast, Feb 13 2024This article was about how Apple and Google collaborated on a number of projects, showing the impact and challenges of business partnerships. One example that was given of this partnership was their working together on creating a contact tracing tool during the COVID-19 outbreak. The partnership allowed them to put together their unique abilities in technology and data security so they could create a system that could hopefully track the virus's progress while protecting the user information safe and doesn’t harm individuals. The most intriguing part of the article was how Apple and Google's partnership found a way to ease the tension between privacy concerns and public safety responsibilities, especially during a crisis moment like the COVID-19 pandemic. It was fascinating to see how these two big companies collaborated to develop a contact tracing app while prioritizing user privacy. After reading about Apple and Googles partnership, I'm reminded of in my own life where teamwork has been essential to achieving goals. Whether it's working on group projects at school or collaborating with family members to do chores, partnerships teach us the value of sharing responsibilities and working towards a common goal. Just like how Apple and Google joined forces to tackle important society challenges, partnerships in our everyday lives can lead to more effective problem-solving and better outcomes.

Datar and Tatiana Sandino on May 8 2008 This article was about how organizational design and control across multiple markets affect franchising in the convenience store industry. Adding on to that this article also talked about the benefits to organizational design and control access stating how that has positively affected franchise and gives readers researched tips/points on how much of a impact those factors have on franchising for customers, to gain more money and where to franchise etc.
I've learnt a lot of fascinating things from this article that I didn't know before like the fact that stores are more likely to be franchised when their location characteristics are more different from the most common location characteristics of the chain as a whole. I didn't know choosing a location had that much of a impact on franchising before reading this article, thus I have gained knowledge from this article to always choose diverse locations if I ever want to franchise in the future as that is what a franchise is looking for. This article relates to what I have learned in class because this article covers the topic of franchise. In class we've learnt that a franchise is a type business that involves two parties: the franchisor who owns the concept and the franchisee who owns the local store and leases the concept by paying franchise fees. This article now expanded my visions on the topic of franchise that I have been learning in school by telling me another aspect of it in convenience stores and giving points on how to choose franchising, and its benefits when u choose to franchise at a convenience store. I think the information I learned from this article about social media and TikTok will be very helpful to me in the future. If I decide to become a content creator myself, knowing how websites like TikTok function, including how they use algorithms and content promotion techniques, that will help me make more interesting and profitable content. Furthermore, knowing about government laws and privacy issues associated with social media can help me make wise choices about what I share online and how I use these platforms in the future. And adding to that additionally, knowing how various social media platforms, such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, compete with one another can keep me be informed about changes and trends in the digital world, which may affect my preferences and usage. In general, the knowledge from this article helps guide me for the future. The article talked about TikTok, which is like a fun place on the phone where people share videos. It made me think about how I use apps like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. I spend a lot of time watching videos that I like, like funny dances or cool tricks. Sometimes, I end up spending too much time on these apps and don't realize it. The article also said that many people spend a lot of time on TikTok. It's like a big part of their day. This piece had made me think about how I sometimes lose track of time too myself when I'm on these apps. This article also mentioned that social media apps copy each other to stay popular. Like how Instagram copied TikTok's short videos with Reels. This made me think how these apps are always changing to keep us in the loop. So, reading about TikTok in the article helped me understand more about how I use social media and how it changes over time.
